Follows the adventures of an extraordinarily strong young boy named Goku as he searches for the seven dragon balls. These balls, when combined, can grant the owner any one wish he desires. Along the way he makes many new friends, and enemies, and he trains to become the strongest fighter in the world.
Dragon Ball is the beginning of the long running series that has become insanely popular in America. In the beginning it's a campy, funny adventure with Goku, a happy boy that's has amazing power for not only a child his age, but for most normal people. Of course no one's normal in this show. He first meets Bulma, a pretty blue haired teenager. Bulma explains to Goku (And us) about the legendary Dragon Balls which have the power to grant you one wish. Any wish you desire. The story takes off from there. As the story progresses though, the story losses it's campy feel and turns into a rather dark telling of Goku's travels. Towards the end he's friends actually die which is sort of strange because when I first started watching it I thought it was kids show. It was for awhile. But the show obviously is preparing you for the next series Dragon Ball Z, a much darker telling of Goku's travels. But Dragon Ball is great show and has a hero that pretty simple. Goku is pure of heart and will always be, no matter what.
I remember, coming home from school when i was about 10 or 11 years old, and sitting in front of the TV and laugh. Goku, Bulma and much much more incredible and funny characters, entertained me for 2 years, then it was canceled. But i remembered them and now even after 10 years, i still love the show. The story, the fights, and of course the sex. I only wish that people would see that, kids wont go out and start killing people, if the show wasn't censored, the Japanese version had soul it had heart, Americans ruined it. Dragon Ball Z was crap. I know that Goku is now older, married, has a kid, but the show sucked. The show has to return on TV uncensored. MY VOTE 10/10

Dragonball - Evolution was released in 2009, after years of speculation and rumors. It has since been released on home video. Dragon Ball (the original series, not Z or GT) has been released on DVD 3 times.<br/><br/>1) The first release was the Kidmark release, which only covered the first 13 episodes of the series. However, this set was edited, and dub only. It featured the older voice actors who did not participate on later FUNimation dubs/projects/etc.<br/><br/>2) FUNimation released &quot;saga set&quot; DVDs around 2003. These were totally uncut and even featured both dub and sub audio tracks. Unfortunately, they did not release the first 13 episodes due to licensing difficulties.<br/><br/>3) FUNimation released &quot;season sets&quot; (five in all) in 2009-2010. This was the first &quot;complete series&quot; release in America, and featured the entire series in uncut form for the first time. These sets are what I recommend getting. 21st - Goku, Krillin, Jackie Chun (actually Master Roshi in disguise), Bacterian, Ran Fan, Yamcha, Giran, and Nam. Fighters in the preliminaries included fighters from Krillin&#39;s old temple. Jackie Chun won this tournament, very narrowly beating Goku.<br/><br/>22nd - Goku, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, Panput, Man-Wolf, Jackie Chun. Fighters in the preliminaries included King Chappa and Nam. Tien and Goku fought very evenly, though Tien eventually won because Goku got hit by a truck outside the arena at one point during the fight.<br/><br/>23rd - Chi-Chi, Goku, Krillin, Tien, Piccolo Jr., Cyborg Tao, Hero (Kami in a human body), Yamcha. Fighters in the preliminaries included Chiaotzu, King Chappa, and a masked Yajirobe. After a huge epic battle, Goku narrowly won, making this the only tournament Goku ever won!
